As I was reading this book I was thinking “Holden Caulfield is such a jerk! He’s disrespectful to elders, he’s blasphemous, he can’t see past the end of his nose, and he’s an aimless kid who’s heading nowhere fast.”

But guess what? That describes me when I was a kid! In fact, it describes a huge percentage of America! And it also describes a big percentage of American youth. J.D Salinger caught lightening in a bottle with this timeless, classic look at American teen angst. Based on the way the story is told, it could have been written at any time during the 20th century, and it still speaks to us today. Because of all the swearing and the potty mouth thinking of the book’s central figure, I’, not sure I would recommend this for a high school class, but it would make for a good book for a college class and something that every one who cares about timeless lit should read.

I should also say that as frustrating as it is to get inside the mind of Holden Caulfield, I came away from the book with a sense of hope, that maybe the kid won’t be a schmuck for the rest of his life after all. In that sense, when I see Holden Caulfield, I see myself.

WOW I have read the first few pages and this guy isnt “conversating with God, hes talking to satan himself. Any one who tells you to rely on your feelings is the biggest deciever ever!! Our feelings are fleeting up and down. Jesus Christ is the Rock that never changes. Thank goodness He didnt go by His feelings when he was dying on the cross for our sins. This book is a big fat LIE!

I bought this SteamVac mainly to remove pet stains, and so far I have been more than satisfied. I’ve used it on my carpet and my couch, and both now look and smell great. The cleaner itself is not too heavy or bulky to use, and I have not had any of the leaking issues that I’ve seen a lot of people complain about. Any leaking is most likely due to human error in not setting up the machine properly. If the water compartments are not installed correctly, then the machine will leak. You do go through a lot of water changes while using this cleaner, but I think that is a small price to pay when you see how much dirt this thing picks up. My only gripe is that the 16 oz. bottle of cleansing solution that comes with the carpet cleaner was barely enough to do one room, so if you purchase this product, you’ll probably also want to get a 128 oz. bottle of cleansing solution as well.

I bowed down and got this “class 6″ for my Canon Rebel T2i. But have had no problems even with “Class 4″ cards. Great value at the time of this writing. But as all thing memory related, pricing will most likely even get better in a few months. This is one of those items where it either works or dies instantly. If it works, and most do, it is perfect. Have already filled it several times and re-used without issues of any kind.

Be sure to read the instructions as they will save you lots and lots of headaches. It takes a while to get the bugs out of the OS. But the instructions do a great job of walking you through it.

Bought this for my Garmin after buying a new car and not wanting to adhere anything to the dash. My only concern was that it would move and fall off the dashboard. This is a miracle! I have a curved dashboard and after taking two long trips on bumpy roads, I have to give it the highest marks! I do not find this bulky. It fits into my glove compartment and I have a compact car!

The Forerunner 305 has lived up to expectations, based on my first few weeks of experience. I use it for jogging/walking and it appears consistent and accurate based on about 10 outings of 6 mile length.

Positives: Light weight, easy to read, much flexibility on output displays, docks and synchronizes seemlessly with the Garmin Training Center software, works as advertised. I particularly like to display current pace as well as average pace.

Negatives (but none are serious): Takes 30 to 45 seconds to find satellites. I have a short attention span and tend to get impatient waiting for it to lock onto the satellites.

Tip: I occasionally record a false start by accident, then stop the run after say 5 or 10 seconds. Unfortunately, this “run” is recorded on the GPS. After uploading the data to the Garmin Training Center, I deleted the bogus run from the uploaded records. But every time I dock/sync, the short run was restored to the training record. The solution is to upload data, delete the unwanted record, clear the GPS memory, then send the remaining good records from the Training Center back to the GPS device. Said another way, I couldn’t find a way to delete a record directly from the GPS, but the workaround accomplishes the same thing.
